Haworthia
venosa subsp.
tessellata (Haw.) M.B. Bayer
This very distinctive Haworthia has as its trademark the wide tesselate lines on its upper leaf surfaces. It generally has toothed leaf margins, but not always as conspicuous as this plant. H.
venosa subsp. tessellata
is the most widespread Haworthia and shows great variability across its large range. This plant was collected from Namuskleift in Namibia. It is one of the larger elements, and in my opinion, a true beauty. This plant offsets via rhizomes as does H. limfolia, and H. nigra, the only Haworthias to do so.
Given to charity plant sale in spring of 2003.
