Distribution in the South Western Cape

written on Dec 25, 2018 and last revisited on Dec 31, 2018

The south Western Cape contains rich succulents, but Haworthia is limited to a few species. It has its rainfall in winter, with the rainy season starting in April, building up to a peak in June-July, and ending in September. The summers are relatively dry. The high rainfall in the environs of Cape Town has no Haworthias discovered.

This area is the home of H. arachnoidea, H. maraisii, H. nortieri, H. reticulata, and T. pumila.

H. maraisii is found in Goedverwacht, a west coast district municipality.
